{Perfect Freedom}

Freedom is something everyone yearns for. Whether it is having more free time, being stress free, having freedom from an authority, or being freed from the shackles of our very own minds, everyone desires freedom. True, being and feeling free is vital to living a healthy life but there is a certain kind of freedom that only has one way of being retrieved. This freedom, is the perfect freedom.

To experience perfect freedom is to experience the perfect grace of God. With His grace comes great freedom, but not the freedom to just go out and live the way we want to. His freedom is freedom from the prison cell of our sin; to escape the bounds of hell and forever have a home in Heaven. Christ’s freedom is the only way to experience true freedom.

Eleutheromania is defined as an intense and irresistible desire for freedom. Before I found Christ, I strived for this kind of feeling. Everything in life frustrated me: school, friends, family, my thoughts; all of it got under my skin and I wanted to be free from their chains. Obviously, as a teenager I wanted to rebel from my parents rules and restrictions. High school is all about finding yourself, which requires letting yourself go and explore all you can. All I wanted was the freedom to be who I wanted to be, but God was never in the picture. Everything I wanted to be was selfish with self rewarding goals. You will not be surprised when I tell you nothing I tried gave me that sense of true liberty.

2 Corinthians 3:17 says, “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom” and there is no better way to put it. To experience true freedom outside the world’s restraints is only through Christ Jesus. He was nailed to a cross so that we could hang our shackles on His arms. Now the eleutheromania within us is satisfied by His sacrificing grace that completely freed us of every single shackle that has ever held us down.

The name of this portion of my blog is “Free” because I will be using it to post about my relationship with Jesus and the freedom I have found in Him. I will write about the things I have been learning and the hard question I want answered. The Bible is my most important resource and I will use it as the foundation of every post in this category because I have the freedom to do so.

I hope you all enjoy!

Keep it real.
